"The Workout" is an on-going weekly scene study class that focuses on various aspects of keeping your acting muscles in shape. Coach Michael Gene Conti brings his varied experience as an actor, writer and director into the classroom to challenge actors to think the way a working actor does. This class utilizes partnered scene work to focus on character development, making clear choices, honoring the work of the writer, learning to collaborate with a director and bringing strong ideas to the table. "The Workout" will mix it up and keep you in shape artistically for whatever opportunities come your way. You're an actor and this is your gym! About Your Coach: Michael Conti is a Los Angeles transplant who graduated from the improv school at The Groundlings and studied acting at Warner Loughlin Studios under the tutelage of Warner Loughlin and Erin Cardillo. Michael's acting experience includes projects for Ghost House Pictures, NBC and the CW. Michael also starred in the Off-Broadway productions of The Drunken City and Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things while working with the sketch comedy troupe "Cardboard Helmets" and producing multiple digital shorts and stage shows in NYC.As a writer, his scripted series, Spooked was produced by Bryan Singer’s Bad Hat Harry Productions and aired on Hulu in 2015. Michael’s writing has also been featured on MTV and Nerdist and he often works as a professional “script doctor”. NOTE: Due to the nature of our team of working actors. This class may also be taught by any of our qualified coaching staff!
